Farmer’s Market open today.

The Bedford Farmers Market will be open today from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the public square and will feature produce, baked goods, fresh cut flowers, meats, farm fresh eggs, lemonade, homemade dog treats, jerky, beeswax products and more.

The Bedford County Pink Ribbon Fund Breast Cancer Support Group will meet Wednesday at 6 p.m. at ProCare. The presenter will be Renea Noto from Noto Rejuvenating Massage Therapy. She will speak on massages as a therapeutic and relaxing experience. For more information, contact Cindy Speck at

The Everett Free Library will meet for a special storytime at the Bloody Run Historical Society, 49 W. 5th St., on Friday, Sept. 9 at 11 a.m. instead of at the library.

Drivers’ license and photo centers closed for Labor Day.

All driver license and photo centers will be closed Saturday through Monday. Customers may still obtain a variety of driver and vehicle products and services, including all forms, publications and driver training manuals, online through PennDOT’s Driver and Vehicle Services website,

Master Gardener classes beginning in October.

The 2022-23 Master Gardener classes offered by the Penn State Extension will begin Oct. 6, and applications are being accepted until Thursday. The training class provides gardeners with intensive training and prepared them to provide education for their communities and other gardeners. Cumberland Valley Parks and Recreation’s annual Labor Day event will be held from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sept. 5 at the rec park, 1037 Park Road, Bedford. There will be a disc jockey, live music, food concessions, a car show, bounces houses, pony rides, craft vendors, a Shop with a Cop dunk tank, chain saw carvings and fireworks. A cornhole tournament to benefit Abby’s Angels Animal Haven and parks and rec, will be held at noon. Teams can register from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Cost will be $40 per team. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three teams in the double elimination tournament. There will be an air mail challenge and a double elimination blind draw. Coolers, outside food and alcoholic beverages are not permitted.
